• They have clean water supply. Clean water keeps them away from diarrhea and other digestive issues.
• They have different vitamin or mineral supplements that keep them healthy and well by immune system aspect.
• They have good chews. They have proper woods to bite to strengthen their teeth or fangs. As their teeth need to be healthy, it keeps them away from loss of appetite, gum, mouth diseases or infections.
• They have regular veterinary visits for check-ups. Meaning, they are tracked or maintained healthily. Any unusual behavior, or weakness is treated as soon as possible that is why, worsening is prevented.
• They have proper training. Having training is a good step to healthy living for a chin. From the moment they were born, training in their drinking, eating, time of play, time of sleep, time of exercise and time of gaining trust, the bonding.

• They have no permanent shelter. They stay where they feel cold. It must be under big trunks or roots or caves. When they feel hot and there is nowhere to stay, they might suffer heat stroke. If they survive, better. But 30% chances of living is estimated resulting to not reaching atleast 8 years.
• They have insufficient foods. Aside from the dry leaves, they may eat, hays are very rare to find in the wild. • They don’t have clean water. They are lucky if they found a good source of water, but this happens very often in the woods. They usually depend on mountain dews or rain water. But they don’t go wet, they know by instinct that they can’t dry themselves easily.
• They don’t have any supplements to support their body needs at all. All vitamins and minerals are highly recommended as they are blocking any diseases that may attack them. Since there’s no guardian out there, no support at all for these chins.
• They don’t have any check ups. In the wild, they grow by themselves, no one is watching over them, no treatment will be given and no cure to any diseases.

A great record breaking news was once flashed about a chin named Bouncer. He was owned by Jenny Ann Bowen of United Kingdom, and recorded as the oldest chinchilla ever. Bouncer was born on July 1 1977 and died October 3 2005. He lived for 28 long years and 94 days to total. He was in Guiness World Record claiming the oldest chinchilla recorded.

Of course, criticisms and questions existed, many have doubted since the known longevity they can live is only up to 20 years. But since the date of birth is known as per the seller told Miss Bowen, it is valid. It was more proven when chinchilla specialist studied and agreed that it was really old. Now theories of chins having up to 20 years of lifespan has changed. In most researches you will see 15 to 20 years, but there is no assurance to any statement.

When it comes to human, we live longer if we live healthy, no vices and not entertaining any negative thoughts. It also goes with pets, if they live healthy, they will live longer. There should be no harmful matters around them, no unhealthy drinks or food intakes, comfortable shelter or there must be proper guardian to watch over them.
